Akamai leadership is accountable for implementing the programs, initiatives, policies that foster inclusion and improve workplace diversity:
- Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) - Raising awareness of diversity and inclusion across Akamai, ERGs include: A global Women's Forum with chapters in the U.S., EMEA, APG, and India; out@akamai; IndUS; and Ohana. ERGs provide learning, development, and networking opportunities for members.
- Mentoring - Experienced managers and leaders help aspiring employees navigate Akamai channels, leverage organizational resoures, network, hone collaboration and communication skills, and ultimately advance in their chosen careers.
- Akamai Technical Academy - An intensive training program for women who demonstrate interest and aptitude in technology, but who might lack the requisite STEM background to consider tech jobs. Starting in 2016, this program provides the skills training to prepare graduates for a contract-to-hire job at Akamai.
- Events - Akamai Talent Acquisition sponsors career fairs, summits, hackathons, meetups, conferences, and conventions to find the best talent in the most diverse audiences.
