About the Job
The Strategy and Operations team within Akamai’s Media Division
is looking for a highly skilled program manager with a graphic design or creative
background. She/he should possess the
ability to cross between a creative and programmatic mindset in order to
transform raw, highly technical and complex content into digestible visuals
that communicate clearly and effectively.
Amongst other activities, this person will be responsible for designing
and driving programs focused on the progress of the business to internal and
external stakeholders. This role will support the Media Division Senior
Leadership team, as well as, have daily interaction with leaders and major
stakeholders across Sales, Product Management and Marketing, Field and Industry
Marketing, Engineering, and other internal partners outside of the division. The role will report to the Senior Director,
Strategy and Operations in the Media Division.
About the Team
The Strategy
and Operations team is responsible for execution of critical business
processes, programs and change initiatives organization. The team is focused on
driving Divisional and GTM related operational activity which include
identifying the key functional metrics across all pillars of the division,
establishing availability of those metrics and establishing a recurring cadence
of review across the Media Leadership team. They do this by working with the
leadership team across the division and the company to drive efficiency through
models, tools, metrics and strategic direction.
Responsibilities
*
Provide assistance to the team via
Program Management on projects addressing business strategy, financial
performance, and on-going operations.
*
Programmatically manage Divisional
programs such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Mission Critical Goals, Divisional
All-Hands, Investor Relations and the customer conference
*
Assist the Strategy and Operations
team with development of UI design for reports and tools in development
*
Design and implement a program to
internally promote key accomplishments and wins across the division, partnering
with the functional Vice Presidents, for broad consumption across Akamai
*
Develop strong partnerships with
program stakeholders across the organization.
Work with operations, field, and program management professionals to
identify and manage dependencies and to keep communication channels open on
high visibility programs
*
Developing a framework for effective
standardization across different functions leveraging similar processes.
*
Take highly technical and complex
concepts/content and transform them into digestible visuals that communicate
clearly and effectively to any audience.
*
Possess a high degree of
professionalism, time management, and ability to keep information confidential.
*
Help to create content to socialize
and use for social media purposes and for internal and external promotion of
the Media Division (e.g. Divisional all-hands, customer videos briefs, customer
case studies, blog posts, posts from analysts and customers facing events)
*
Bridge the gap between the broader Marketing
groups, Creative groups, and Divisional Sr. Management, transferring knowledge
when appropriate.

Collaborate with stakeholder
colleagues from other internal departments (Sales, Pre-Sales, Product
Marketing, Industry Marketing, etc.) to contribute to program development
and/or execution
Basic Qualifications
*
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
*
5+
years of professional experience in relevant industries
*
Understanding
of the design principles
*
Extensive
Microsoft PowerPoint experience
*
Knowledge
of file sharing and collaboration sites such as Google Drive, Basecamp, and
Dropbox.
*
Possess
the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all different levels of the
organization.
Desired Qualifications
The
ideal candidate will be:

3+
years of experience in Design
*
3+ years of experience working in the
high-tech industry
*
Proficiency
in Adobe Creative Suite 6.
*
"Self-starter"
personality with ability to self-motivate and be resourceful in a fast paced
environment.
*
Strong
work ethic and a history of meeting tight deadlines
*
Basic
understanding of other presentation tools, such as Prezi or Keynote
*
Basic
understanding of video editing tools, such as iMovie, QuickTime, or Animoto
*
Knowledge
of web site layout and design
*
Basic
understanding user experience design
*
Strong
written and verbal communication skills
*
Task-oriented
drive to investigate and dissect information with a strong focus on quality.

Strong
sense of integrity and accountability
*
Able
to work cross-functionally and interact effectively with all levels of the
organization.

Able
