Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst who will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities to ensure operational effectiveness and excellence of the financial reporting, profitability and revenue assurance processes and systems. Candidate will possess strong communication skills needed to translate complex business requirements into technical design, implementation and deployment packages. Qualified candidates will be well versed in all phases of the SDLC and are adept at playing multiple roles. Candidates should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. This individual contributor role is a dynamic and high-impact position designed to place you as the primary liaison between Finance, Product teams, internal Corporate Systems teams and other Engineering teams. You will be responsible for facilitating requirements sessions with all levels of the organization and presenting complex concepts to both technical and non-technical team members at all levels of the organization. You must be analytical, business savvy, creative, highly skilled and experienced in project management, business analysis, requirements gathering, testing, change management, and training to implement business processes and applications. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst you will be responsible for,
* Lead scope and requirements sessions with IT, Finance and Product division leaders to design and implement software solutions that support our financial reporting environment including profitability and revenue assurance
* Serve as primary liaison for Finance for financial reporting, profitability and revenue assurance system needs
* Manage entire Software Development Life Cycle process from prioritization of enhancements through implementation
* Communicate project status to all levels of the organization and escalate as needed
* Assist the team in refining and improving program/project management framework
* Facilitate cross-functional teams through business process and application initiatives from requirements definition to prototyping, testing, training, and deployment
* Work closely with technical members of the team to review technical designs and provide guidance to ensure designs support business requirements
* Prepare training materials for deployment of applications, modules, enhancements and bug fixes
* Develop baseline datasets and reports to support business requirements
* Implement and follow business and IT processes to ensure data integrity/accuracy
* Assist with application and reporting system support and operations
* Execute on other directives as needed
About the Team
The Corporate Systems Group designs and develops the technology platform that underpins all financial and HR processes at Akamai. Our focus is to increase the efficiency and transparency of these areas of the business while maintaining enterprise class reliability. Our ever-evolving technology stack consists of Oracle eBusiness, Oracle Business Intelligence, Siebel CRM, Informatica, Hyperion Essbase, and custom software. The team consists of high-caliber business systems analysts, project managers, application administrators and application developers.
Required Education and Experience
* Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree;
* or 3 years and a Master’s degree;
* or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Basic Skills
* 5 + years of direct experience serving a Finance organization in the capacity of a Business Systems Analyst, Project Management or similar.
* 5 + years of direct experience scripting languages such as Python and/or Perl.
* 3 + years of data analytics using statistical concepts such as sampling, distributions and time-series analysis.
* 3 + years of experience with Finance business processes.
* 3 + years of experience with relational databases such as Oracle PL/SQL.
* 5 + years of experience delivering complex software solutions.
Desired Skills
* Experience with Unix systems and shell script development
* Strong analytical skills
* Excellent presenter and is comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization
