Senior Technical Project
Manager (Akamai Technologies, Inc.; Atlanta, Georgia):
The Senior Technical Project
Manager will leverage a strong technical background, excellent client and
project management skills, proven ability to do hands on technical work when
needed, and ability to lead technical projects and technical teams. The Technical
Project Manager will independently solve complex technical problems and
communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
Specific responsibilities include: working independently or leading small
technical teams with Akamai customers to evaluate their security architecture
and deliver the appropriate security solution; evaluating the customers'
content management and publishing processes, web application architecture,
security requirements, DNS configurations, and providing detailed documentation
for a custom solution that satisfies the customers' business and technical
requirements; working closely with customers and pre-sales teams to manage and
implement customer trials, proposing technically feasible solutions and setting
accurate expectations on effort and timelines for integration; establishing
success criteria and acting as the single point of contact for the customer for
all technical issues and project deliverables; creating and managing proposals,
Statements of Work, and detailed project plans for customer integrations
including timelines and effort estimates; working closely with Account
Management, Sales professionals, engineering, product development and Customer
Care to resolve issues that arise during customer integrations; identifying new
product features and additional sales opportunities during trials and
integrations and communication of the same to product development and sales
teams; tracking and documenting status and time spent on customer integrations;
participating in internal projects that help scale the group, implementing best
practices, and improving our methodology and quality of integrations; and
reviewing quality of customer integrations. Up to 10% of travel to supported
customer's offices when necessary.
Minimum requirements
are: Master's degree in Computer
Science, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related
field. Alternatively, will consider Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field plus
5 years of progressive experience.
Must have: Ability working in technical pre-sales/sales
engineering, consulting, and/or other customer facing role consulting on
delivering technical products or services; proven ability working with Internet
technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web
architecture, and design; proven ability working with network and security
solutions, including route/switch, IDS/IPS, Firewall/VPN, Security Event Management,
Data Loss Prevention, and Web Application Protection for strategic business
initiatives; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Please note Akamai is seeking the stated ability
in the above skills but no specific amount or years of experience in these
skills is required.)
